Advertising Memorabilia

For ex, a wealthy man living it up, living in a really nice house, buying stocks on credits without caring where his next meal will come from, meets a gorgeous flapper in a speakeasy (bar), they get married, perhaps have a child. then the stock market crashes and he's left with nothing to support his family and uh something more... I don't know.

Any ideas kind of like that, where it starts in the 1920s and progresses into the 30s? Something interesting (:
